Where are you based and do you travel?
We live in a little village on the Derbyshire/South Yorkshire border, just outside of Sheffield. We are more than happy to drive anywhere and love to travel and explore the world. If you’re planning a local wedding down the road, or one the other side of the UK, or even abroad, we’d love to photograph your day.
Are you both trained in photography?
Yep! We both have degrees in photography, and combined, we have studied photography for over 10 years. We feel that this has greatly helped us become the photographers we are now, and has given us the grounding we need to provide you a really great service, and high quality photographs that you can treasure.
Will you make us pose?
We love capturing natural moments and this is our main aim when photographing. During couple portraits or a family shoot, what we like to do is to position you in a relaxed way, and then wait for some natural laughter or a beautiful moment between you. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
do you do group photos?
At weddings, we aim to keep group shots relaxed, fun and simple, without taking up a big chunk of your day. We normally suggest keeping these to a maximum of 10 different groups. This keeps things nice and simple, and no one gets sore cheeks from smiling in 20 different groups shots.
How can we book you?
Fill out the form on our contact page with all your details and wedding plans. We’ll check we have your date available and get back to you. If you’d like to meet us in person first, then we can organise a meeting over a coffee to chat all about your plans and how we work.
Do we have to pay a deposit?
Yes, we ask for a 20% deposit, to book us and to secure your date. This is non-refundable, and will be deducted from the remaining fee.
Do we have to sign anything to confirm the booking with you?
We have a booking form and contract that we will ask you to sign. This outlines what’s included in your photography package, and secures your day with us. We will post this out to you once you have confirmed you’d like to book us.
Will we hear from you between booking and the day of our wedding?
Yes. We love to keep in touch with our couples. Creating a good relationship with you is one of the most important things to us. We feel that you need to get to know us a little bit before you invite us to come and photograph you. We never want to feel like strangers on your wedding day.
Before your wedding day we like to meet up for a drink and talk through all your plans. We also keep in touch through emails and phone calls. You can email us anytime to ask questions or get advice from us. We’re here to help!
We also love meeting up for an engagement shoot too, if that’s something you’d be interested in. This is a great way for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, and to also get some lovely photos to use as invites, save the dates, or even just as a keepsake for yourselves.
Will you both be there on the day?
Yes. We love working together and we’re a great team. Having two photographers on a shoot is a massive advantage. At a wedding ceremony one of us will be at the front capturing the emotions between you both, and the moment you say ‘I do’, whilst one of us will be stood at the back photographing your guests reactions, as well as taking wider shots of you both, stood at the alter surrounded by your family and friends.
Do you both need a meal providing when you’re photographing our wedding?
Yes please. Having a meal at the same time as you and your guests gives us a chance to have some food and little rest, but also to be on hand if there’s suddenly a great photo opportunity that you wouldn’t want us to miss. We’ve had several occasions where a guest decides to do an impromptu speech or surprise you with a performance. We would hate to miss something special. However if this causes any problems, we are always happy to bring a packed lunch with us.
How do we get our photos back from you?
We will be in touch when your photos are ready and let you know when we packaged then up and popped them in the post. All packages are sent 1st class with Royal Mail. We will also send you the link and password to your private online gallery. You will then be able to download, view and share your photos from there. It’s super easy and great to send to friends and family who live further afield.
when will we receive our photographs?
For weddings we normally say about 6-8 weeks during peak times, but you may get them a little sooner. We always stay in touch while editing to let you know roughly how long you photos will be.
For all other photo shoots, we aim to get your images back to you within 2-4 weeks. However if you need them any sooner (for your events social media etc) then please let us know.
Do you do photo albums?
Yes. As a couple ourselves, saving memories as physical photographs is extremely important to us. We want to be able to pass on to our children and grandchildren photos of our adventures as prints and photo albums, not just as digital images. This is why we offer beautiful, flat-lay fine art photo albums. And even better, they’re made with the highest long-lasting materials and tactile cotton paper. If a photo album is something you’d like, then we will work with you after your wedding day to choose your favourite images, and we will create a layout that beautifully documents your day.
Can we order prints of our photos from you?
Absolutely. We have our own professional print studio at home, where we can print up to A3+ (13" x 19"). We love to do everything ourselves, so printing your images at our home studio allows us to make sure you receive the highest quality images, and we don’t have to charge you extra for printing your photographs externally.
Can we make our own prints of the photos, and if so who owns the copyright?
Yes. All our photos come with a licence to print and share for personal use. Fox Moon Photography holds the copyright to the images, which simply means you can’t sell or enter the photos into any competitions. But feel free to get in touch with us if you want us to go through this in more detail.
